The top 5 regions to live in Italy

Living in Italy doesn’t mean simply living in such a wonderful country with probably the best kitchen all over the world in the cradle of civilization. Living in Italy means so much more than beaches, sun and a stress-free life.

Living in Italy means even accepting contradictions and things hard to understand. But now, according with Associazione Ricerca Felicità, here we go with the chart of the top 5 regions to live in Italy.

If you have never been to Italy, simply imagine that the happiest workers are in the South of the country: in fact, 67% of them say they love their work so much that they forget everything else and 68% say they feel a great sense of belonging to their company / organization!

On the other hand, we find in the North-East the most "pessimistic" and reporting the same percentages we notice how the numbers are lowered and not a little: respectively, we find in the same statements 57% and 55% of the northerners.

5 position – Tuscany

Famous for the sympathy of its inhabitants, it has environmental and cultural heritage of marked beauty. Not simply thanks to its history (we told about Florence in the last post, avoiding to forget Pisa and Siena) but even for its landscape – such as Sienese hills which Oliver Stone filmed iconic scenes of “The Gladiator”.

Another fact that affects a lot is the standard of living, with an absolute record of 86.3 years: this has helped to prosper many historically welcoming cities such as Florence and Pisa or the glamour city of Viareggio, close to Lucca. No coincidence that many want to retire in this magnificent land. Even Hillary Clinton, some time ago, manifested her love for this land.

4 position – Trentino Alto Adige

According with Demoskopika, Trentino is confirmed as one of the best Italian tourist destinations for its beautiful landscapes and the many activities to do within the region. The region has a very high number of families equipped with broadband connection, a sign of an efficient management and great integration of the natural territory on the slopes of the Dolomites with new technologies.

Trentino inhabitants declare themselves happy for their relationships with their family and friends and for the way in which they spend their free time within nature and history made up of linguistic minorities within their territory: in Trentino Alto Adige, in fact, many inhabitants speak more German than Italian.

3 position - Marche

Marche region get the podium with a land that embodies a harmonious fusion of history, landscapes and art! In particular, Macerata leads among the best provinces where you can live within the region: according to a ranking by Italia Oggi on the quality of life of the Italian provinces, Macerata occupies the 19th place. In addition, the Marche is rich in magnificent medieval villages.

There are exactly 28 villages in the Marche region that are part of the Association "The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy", having preserved their original structure and hundreds of years of culture, authenticity and history. The safe haven you were looking for, with friendly and cordial inhabitants, a cost of living within everyone's reach and a unique stress-free life.

In Umbria we smile and this is demonstrated by the high level of the happiness index: a mix dictated by taxation and quality of the services offered. Characterized by rolling hills and settlements rich in traditions and history, the region has so much to offer in terms of landscapes, food and wine and culture.

There is also the opportunity to do many sports activities and not in the open air, contributing to the collective well-being of the inhabitants. Among the various wonderful places to visit also the splendid Marmore waterfall and the medieval alleys of Perugia.
