3 place – Isola d’Elba

It is the largest of the islands of the Tuscan archipelago and the third largest in Italy (223 km²). Elba, together with the other islands of the archipelago (Pianosa, Capraia, Gorgona, Montecristo, Giglio and Giannutri), is part of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park very close to the French border lead by Corsica.


The Mediterranean climate and insularity are the main elements that influence the flora of Elba. The plant formation consists of the Mediterranean scrub. In the innermost areas it is also possible to find dense expanses of woods.


Rich in iron deposits, the island of Elba made possible the rise of the Etruscan civilization that, together with the Roman one, first, and Lombard, then, dominated the island of Elba for long centuries. Destination of artists and writers, the island is famous in the world also for having hosted in 1814 and for a short period the exile of Napoleon Bonaparte.

A multifaceted territory, steeped in history and nature. Enjoy the sunset from the beaches of Chiessi and Pomonte, or from the terrace of Capoliveri. Set off in search of orchids on paths scented with Mediterranean scrub, between valleys and cliffs overlooking the sea.

2 place – Pantelleria


Have you ever heard about Moscato and Passito? Well, in Pantelleria there are VIPs who have transformed their passion for wine into a real business; this is the case of Gerard Depardieu and his wife Carole Bouquet, who after buying a dammuso decided to start their own production. With them so many Italian artists bought a villas in Pantelleria. The island is extended more than 80 km² (about 4 times the island of Lampedusa) and is located 110 km southwest of Sicily and 65 km northeast of Tunisia, whose coast is often visible to the naked eye. But not simply food and wine.

Pantelleria preserves even numerous monumental remains of its ancient history. The most important and exclusive are those of the archaeological park of Sese, in the area of Mursìa and Cimillia, or the inhabited hut of the Bronze Age, with a monumental fortification wall, and the relative necropolis of the sesi. In 2003 three heads of Roman statues dating back to the first century AD were found.

 

1 place- Isole Eolie

About a million tourists a year are enough to understand how impressive and important the archipelago of the Aeolian Islands is considered in the world? If not, this one is definitely the place not simply to visit but even to imagine and live in.


The Aeolian Islands, all of volcanic origin, are located in the southern Tyrrhenian Sea in front of the north coast of Sicily at Capo Milazzo. Lipari, Vulcano, Salina, Stromboli, Panarea, Alicudi and Filicudi are the seven islands that make up this wonderful archipelago made of history, tradition, food and wine among the top in Italy and that’s why you can catch up here pictures with Hollywood stars and the most famous artists all over the world.


Each island is made by different aspects to understand – Lipari for families and landascapes, Panarea more glamorous, Salina for tastes and wines, Vulcano to climb, Stromboli for a romantic vacation in a perfect silence and Alicudi and Filicudi to remember how wild life can still be alive.
